Baby Layettes

We have 2 or more baby showers per year.   Friday Quilters which meets every Friday has one in November and many of the ladies make quilts, bibs, burp clothes, hooded towels, and buy outfits for baby.  Also we are starting to include lotions  and some other items for Mommy.   In February, the Knit Wits have a shower, they also make a lot of beautiful items, hats, sweaters, quilts and include outfits. Each of the families are vetted before a basket is given out.

I took this group over from Barbara Carter, who did this for 10 years, including books, clothing for the VA, in June 2016.   I have storage bins to store items until I have at least 20 baskets to give out to our liaison Barb Gavre of  Family Readiness Program Manager.     I am more than happy to accept baby items listed  anytime.

Please feel free to drop off at my home  61873 E. Oakwood Dr, SaddleBrooke, AZ  85739   ph: 520-818-0971.   email:

What it means to our troops & their families…

Dear Barbara, Members of SaddleBrooke Troop Support and Women of SaddleBrooke,

What a wonderful surprise when my husband brought home the basket full of baby items. We had such fun “unwrapping” each item and are blessed that you shared so generously. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Here’s a little information on our little darling:  Johnathan (Drew) was born Saturday at 6:11pm by emergency C-section. He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long. I stepped on the scale with him a few days ago out of curiosity, and he weighed in at a whopping 16 pounds. He is only 3 months old and weighs a pound more than his 7 month old cousin. We are completely in love with our Little Duke. Please enjoy the pictures of Drew and his brother and sister, and thanks again for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
